From WW message boards re: portion sizes:
There is a section in your week one book (if you attaned meetings) that exlains portion sizes by using your hand as a model. Here's what it says:
fist= 1 C. or 1 med whole fruit
Thumb (tip to base) = 1 oz. meat or cheese
Thumb Tip (tip to 1st joint) =1T.
Fingertip(tip to 1st joint)= 1 t.
Index Finger= (1st to 2nd joint)= 1 Inch
Cupped Hand = 1-2 oz. nuts or pretzels
Palm (minus fingers) = 3 oz. of cooked meat, poultry or fish.
It further goes on to say you shouold use your dish as a portioning tool; 1/4 each filled with grain & protien, and 1/2 vegetables.
